First, if you are notRomantic Kennbunkport Inn - Great for a Winter Getaway an outdoors type of person, the Captain Lord Mansion, a romantic Kennbunkport bed and breakfast offers a quiet place to just relax and to unwind from your stressful life.  Our large rooms offer plenty of space to spread out, to lounge in comfortable chairs or to nap the day away in plush oversize beds.  Each guestroom features a gas fireplace which creates warm atmosphere for the whole room.  This is a relaxing Kennebunkport winter activity.

If you are an outdoor person, the Captain Lord Mansion offers complimentary snow-shoes and poles for use by our guests.  The Cape Arundel Golf Course and Wells Reserve both offer excellent snow-shoeing as well as cross-country ski trails, if you bring your own skis. Both are located only a short drive from the inn.  Bev and I enjoy going to both places to snow-shoe.  The Wells Reserve has wooded and open field trails.  The golf course runs along the river and offers spectacular views.  These are active Maine winter activities.

Some guests even enjoy walking the beaches.  However, it is advisable to dress warmly because the winds off the water can be quite brisk!  I personally think this is an insane winter activity!

Rockin Horse Stables offer sleigh rides through beautiful snow-covered fields near the Captain Lord Mansion, our intimate Maine Coast Inn.  Look at this picture of a white sleigh sliding through the snow.  Imagine you and a loved one snuggling beneath fur blankets enjoying the scenery.  It is especially nice on a beautiful sunny winter day.
