It’s Christmas Prelude! Captain Lord Is Planning to Visit His Mansion!
Announcing the arrival of Captain Nathaniel Lord for Christmas Prelude, 2015. Captain Lord is planning to visit his Mansion for the first weekend of Christmas Prelude on Sunday, December 6, 2016 between 1;00 pm and 3:30 pm.
Come meet Captain Nathaniel Lord and see his Captain Lord Mansion decked out for Christmas. The inn’s halls are hung with evergreen boughs, berries and ribbons and the staircases too. Come see the fantastic collection of Santas; there are antique ones, hand-carved ones, collectible ones and just plain delightful ones! Also, there is a miniature Christmas Village located on an antique coal stove in the Mansion’s kitchen; it is brimming with activity and pictures of it may be seen on the inn’s Instagram site.
Additionally, see the life size carolers at the guest entrance and have your picture taken with them and our bronze dogs. Drive by the Mansion in the evening and see the exterior aglow with thousands of miniature, twinkling white lights. The Captain Lord Mansion is a definite “must -see” during Christmas Prelude.
Additionally, the 5 Historic Inns of Kennebunkport will each be open for tours that day. Donations of $10 per person are required and all proceeds will be given to the local food bank. So, Sunday, December 6, between 1:00 and 3:30 pm come see how each inn has decorated for Christmas Prelude. Refreshments will be served at each inn. The Captain Lord Mansion will be serving cookies and “Swedish Glogg”, a delightfully tasting brew of cran-apple juice warmed in a large crock-pot with spices.
We look forward to meeting you and introducing you to Captain Lord. Bev Davis and Rick Litchfield, Innkeepers
