6th Annual “Dime for Time” Fundraiser

Celebrate with us as The Captain Lord Mansion conducts its 6th Annual “Dime for Time” Breast Cancer Fundraiser in 2015!

Owners of this romantic Kennebunkport inn, Bev Davis and Rick Litchfield invite you to participate in their Lois Ann Fincher Memorial  “Dime for Time” Fundraising Campaign.  This original campaign was begun in 2010 to honor Bev’s sister, Lois Ann Fincher who passed away in 2003 after a long and heroic battle with breast cancer. This is the “Signature Charity” for our Maine Coast bed & breakfast inn.

For each guest stay at our Kennebunkport Bed & Breakfast throughout the year, we pledge a donation to this fund. Donations are calculated as a multiple of dimes based on frequency of guest visits.  In October of 2014 one couple made their 100th visit to the inn!  Thus, with such a large number of  frequent visitors, we have donated over $20,000 to the American Cancer Society from the past five year’s fundraising efforts.

In 2015 we are choosing to make our donation to “My Breast Cancer Support”, an organization located in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. This 501C-3 Charitable organization provides household assistance, family support, living expenses, travel scholarships and complimentary wellness programs to deserving women from Portsmouth, NH to Sanford, Maine.  We decided to support this organization because it directly and positively impacts lives of women from the local seacoast area.

The Captain Lord Mansion “Dime for Time” Breast Cancer Fundraiser culminates each year on the last Sunday and Monday of November when selected New England area breast cancer survivors receive a complimentary two-night stay at the Inn and a short reception is held when a check for money raised is presented to the receiving organization.

If you desire to nominate someone for this complimentary stay at the inn, please send Bev and Rick an email at innkeeper@captainlord.com.  Due to winter travel considerations, we usually accept nominations only for women from the six New England states.  The email nomination should be about 250 words in length and should give us an idea of why that person should be chosen, as well as giving us the contact information (phone number, mailing address and email address) for the nominee.
