Laudholm Trust was formed in 1982 as a grassroots effort to protect historic Laudholm Farm in Wells, Maine. Within a few years, the Trust's vision expanded and, with exceptional community support, the group spearheaded the establishment of the Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve. In the years following its initial success, the Trust has continued to support research, education, and management activities at the Wells Reserve.

Commisioned and built in 1879, Cape Neddick Light - popularly known as Nubble Lighthouse - sits on a small tranquil island just off the northern end of York's Long Sands Beach. With its handsome Victorian keeper's house, trimmed with gingerbread and red shutters, Nubble Light is one of the most photographed spots on the Maine coast. This welcoming beacon for visitors to the Yorks symbolizes the region's perfect combination of heritage and recreation... its miles of beautiful beaches, spectacular sailing and fishing...its many-hued fall foliage, winter cross-country skiing and colorful holiday festivities...its many fine restaurants, great shopping bargains and lively cultural activities.
