Gathering Room

Just off the main lobby of the inn is a 26' x 20' formal "gathering/dining room" that centers around a large open fireplace that used to be the original cooking fireplace in 1812. Bev has provided a pair of high-back wing chairs and a camel-back sofa for guests to settle in for conversation or just relaxing by the fire. A toasty fire is kept tended daily for 10 months of the year, excluding summer, July and August!

The are a pair of striking oriental carpets that divide the "gathering room" into two specific areas. The second part of the room is where breakfast is served when there is overflow from the inn's big country kitchen. The dining room table and chairs are "centennial Chippendale" pieces that belonged to the original Lord family. The dining room set and one bed are the only original furniture at the inn which can be traced to the Lord family.

There is a second common room on the first level of the inn. It was the original 'summer kitchen" and retains the original fireplace and brick oven. That room is used for small corporate meetings and also has a TV for guest use.
