Celebrate Christmas Prelude in Kennebunkport

Kennebunkport was named the #2 best Christmas town in the US by HGTV. When you tour the First Families Kennebunkport Museum at White Columns and view all that Kennebunkport has to offer for the Christmas Prelude, you will see how magical it really is. The town is transformed with lights, wreaths, bows and gives the town a wonderful holiday feel. Everyone joins in on the festivities from caroling, watching Santa arrive, concerts, sleigh rides, historic house tours and more

Christmas Prelude in Kennebunkport MaineWhile staying at the Captain Lord Mansion during Christmas Prelude, we highly recommend that you visit the Kennebunkport Historical Society‘s signature property, the First Families Museum which is located in White Columns.  It will be lavishly decorated with seasonal greens, wreathes, ribbons and bows.  See the many Christmas trees which are decorated in a variety of themes, including one featuring decorations celebrating the presidency of George H. W. Bush.  Apparently, one of the Bush family cooks made gingerbread ornaments for the family tree.  The Museum tree does not have exact replicas, but honors the tradition with wonderful gingerbread ornaments.  Additionally, there is a tree decorated with shipbuilding-themed ornaments fashioned by the children from the local elementary school.  New this year is an exceptional gift shop decorated for the season and chock full of affordable gifts for your holiday shopping enjoyment.  Your innkeeper, Rick Litchfield
