Did you know that The University of New England is located not far from The Captain Lord Mansion?

Bev and I would like to introduce you to the University of New England; it is an independent, coeducational university with two distinctive campuses which are located in two different Maine coastal cities.

The Biddeford Campus  is located on Route 9, in Biddeford, Maine. The campus has a beautiful ocean-front site where the Saco River flows into the Atlantic Ocean.

The Portland Campus in Portland is designated a national historic district. The campus is quintessential New England, with a central green surrounded by classic brick buildings.

From its College of Osteopathic Medicine and Westbrook College of Health Professions to its recently established College of Pharmacy and College of Dental Medicine, UNE is well-recognized as a leading educator of healthcare professionals.

Additionally, UNE offers a comprehensive liberal arts education, with more than 30 undergraduate majors in its College of Arts & Sciences, such as environmental science, marine science, English, history, business, communication and education.

The many academic programs offered by UNE ensure that its students have plenty of opportunities for extensive fieldwork, clinical experiences, research, internships and global experiences at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Bev and I recommend that if you are visiting the Captain Lord Mansion, you might enjoy a visit to the UNE Biddeford campus. From the UNE campus it is not far to Biddeford Pool, a picturesque and lovely coastal Maine village. We can provide driving directions! Your innkeeper, Rick Litchfield
