Visit the Normandy Coast at The Portland Museum of Art!

Now through September 3, 2012 you may visit the Normandy Coast through beautiful impressionistic paintings on display at the magnificent I.M. Pei designed brick building which houses the Portland Museum of Art.  In addition to the current exhibit of French impressionist paintings, the museum has an extensive collection of other fine art and antiques on permanent display.  Also, there is the beautifully-restored Federal period McLellan House which is part of the museum collection. The McLellan House has wonderful carved fireplace mantels, ceiling moldings and “Indian” shutters. The wallpapers are also replicas of the period.  If you love the Captain Lord Mansion‘s architecture, you’ll be impressed with the much more decorative McLellan House.  Obviously the McLellan family had more money to invest in their home than Nathaniel Lord!  Stop by our office and we can provide you with discount admission tickets to the museum, so you may visit the Normandy Coast at the Portland Museum of Art!  Your innkeeper, Rick Litchfield
