The Top 4 Things to Do While on a Summer Vacation in Kennebunkport

The top 4 things to do while on a summer vacation in Kennebunkport that we recommend include taking a Lobster Boat Cruise and eating a lobster dinner.  I love finishing dinner with a dessert of home-made Maine blueberry pie. It doesn’t get much better than that!

Next, no summertime visit to the Southern Coast of Maine would be complete without a visit to one of our many white sandy beaches. Grab the beach chairs and towels supplied complimentary by our intimate Maine Coast bed & breakfast inn.

Personally, I find a sailing trip on either The Schooner Eleanor or the Pineapple Ketch to be one of the most relaxing ways to spend a couple of hours on a beautiful sunny summer day.  Just writing this I am imagining the wind gently billowing the sails and cooling us passengers!

My fourth top vacation activity includes a visit to one of the nearby lighthouses.  When you go to Cape Porpoise, you can see Goat Island Light off in the distance. However, if you want to visit a lighthouse up close and personal, I recommend going to see the Portland Headlight. It is located only about 35 minutes drive from the Captain Lord Mansion.  Also, it is situated in a large park where you can picnic and partake of views of Portland Harbor.  We have explicit driving instructions to this and other lighthouses on the coast.  Your innkeeper, Rick Litchfield
