Just one more day before the kickoff of Christmas Prelude and we are busy, busy, busy here at the Captain Lord Mansion! Our carolers (freshly painted thanks to Bev) are out in the lawn, singing away, wishing for the snow they played in last year.
The weather for the next few days is calling for unseasonable warmth, temperatures in the mid to upper 40s and a brisk wind. BUT – it will definitely be COLD this weekend. Our visitors and revelers will certainly feel Jack Frost nipping away as they carol and cavort in Dock Square.
You can always visit the National Weather Service forecast for Kennebunkport by clicking here to get a better idea of what kind of winter weather is heading our way.
As for us, we are busy greeting guests and making our inn look spectacularly Currier and Ives.
I listed a number of our favorite events in my last blog (click here to revisit the entry). But one I wanted to mention specifically, all by itself is a Choral Presentation by the Curtis Lake Christian Church Choir.
Our inn sponsors this magical vocal event, which takes place this Saturday, Dec. 6 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
The choral ensemble magnifies the birth of Christ (the real reason for the season) at the steps of Union Square.
Please join us then, or just stop by the inn for a visit anytime during Christmas Prelude as we celebrate this glorious time of year.
Your innkeeper – Rick Litchfield.
